Then the land will yeld its harvest...
"May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him." - Psalm 67:5-7
There is something about this praise thing that unleashes the blessings of God. Oh sure, we need to be mindful not to have a self-centered mentality. We worship God because He's worthy. But it is an unavoidable by-product that God is enthroned on the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3) and when the King is welcomed, when he host his presence - we cannot help but be blessed by the One who can do no other but bless those who seek Him. Light by it's very nature illuminates things. It can do no other. God, by His very nature, blesses those who praise Him. So God said that "foreigners who bind themselves to the Lord, to serve him, to love the name of the Lord, and to worship him...these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer....for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations." (Isaiah 56:6-7) This prayer room could just as well be called a worship room. We cannot pray properly to the Lord of the whole earth if it is not in a spirit of adoration and wonder, of reverence, awe and reckless worship. This land will yield it's harvest: a harvest of righteousness (Galatians 6:9), a harvest of souls (Mathew 9:37,38), the fruit born from the word of God (Colossians 1:6). Our job? Praise God until our praises become contagious and all the peoples begin to praise him. Let's praise him when we leave this room. Let's praise Him for answered prayers. Let's praise Him for unanswered prayers. Our job is to praise Him. His job is to bless us that our land will yield it's harvest. And then what? The ends of the earth will fear him. People may say "What good thing could come from Moscow?" They said it about Nazareth. And very good things came from there. They will say it about Moscow, and very good things will come from here, as we invoke his blessing, as we host his presence, as we change the atmosphere over our city with an unceasing chorus of praise.
