obedient unto?
"Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." Phil.2:5-7
The question came to me "What will you be obedient unto?"
And a flood of images of all of the brokenness, hurt, darkness, and depression I have seen in Wallace over the past years of being a small group leader there. The very building itself and those who lived there seemed to be crying out for Jesus. My heart is breaking over and over for that place. And my heart was breaking for all the times I have heard Christians (the salt and light) say they want to leave Wallace, or that they could never live there. Without salt and light the darkness feeds off itself, it multiples, it gets a foothold, it goes unchallenged. Jesus not only loved us from a distance, but he "moved onto our floor."
O Jesus, change our hearts.
