Men of faith rise up!

A passion that God has giving me over the past few months and that he gave again this night was to see real men of God rise up and take their place here at the U of I. All to often our culture tells men to calm down and submit. Almost every little boy wants to be something like a firemen, or a policemen when they grow up. Why is that? It is because we long for adventure, we long for a battle to fight. That is why movies like Braveheart are so cool to us. It depects people fighting for what they believe in. Almost everyguy wishes that they were William Wallace, fighting to protect his home and his country. However as those little boys grow up you begein to see the dreams of being an adventure seeker disappear. Only to be replaced with the lie that there is not a battle to fight, there is no adventure to be had. I just want to say that is a lie. There is the most important battle of all time and God wants to use us as soldiers on the front lines. Live your life for God, take your place as a man sold out for him and I guarentee that you will find your adventure and your battle. God created us this way for a reason and I want to see us realize this. He created us to fight for what is right, to stand up for what is just, to care for our sisters. Men it is time that we step up to the plate and begin to do the job that God has designed us for.

John
